Report notifications

How to make sure you receive real-time updates on your case

Vault endeavours to ensure that you have real-time visibility to the progress of your case once you've submitted it. This means that regardless of how you've reported (via mobile app, Open Reporting, or VaultTalk), you can immediately view the status of your case as well as communicate directly with your Case Manager.

After you send a report, you receive notifications when:

  • Your report status changes – for example, you'll be notified when the case team opens your report and updates it from "New" to "Read".

  • A member of the case team sends you a message.

  • A member of the case team closes your case.

You receive notifications depending on how you reported the incident:

  • In the Vault mobile app – You receive messages in the app. You can enable email updates.

  • In Open Reporting – If you include an email address when filing your report, you receive email notifications to that email address. If you sent the report anonymously, by default, you won’t receive any further notifications.

  • Note: When sending a report through Open Reporting, copy and save your Vault ID. This will allow you to log back in and view updates in the portal and communicate with your case manager.

  • On a phone call – You receive an SMS with a report confirmation and details on how to log in to Vault for status updates and for further communication with your case manager.
    If you've called from a Landline or VOIP, you should be familiar with the message about notifications and accessing your submitted report.

Sign up for email notifications in the mobile app

When you send your first report in the Vault mobile app, you get an option to enable email notifications.

You can also manually opt-in to email notifications through your settings.

To receive email notifications:

  1. In the Vault mobile app, open Settings.

  1. Select Notification settings and configure the email address you want to use for the messages.
