Slack Intake is a new intake channel available as part of Vault's solution. It offers a direct and secure integration between Slack and Vault, allowing employees to report issues or ask questions directly from within their Slack workspace.

What is Slack Intake?

Slack Intake is an installable app that connects your Slack workspace with Vault, giving employees a fast and convenient way to:

  • Speak up—either with their name or anonymously

  • Ask workplace-related questions

Once installed, everyone in your Slack workspace can access the app. However, only users listed in your active directory and synced with Vault’s user table will be able to log in.

If your organization has Open Reporting enabled, a dedicated link to your Open Reporting page will always be visible on the Vault Slack app’s homepage. This ensures that users not in your directory can still speak up as needed.

Steps to Install Slack

Setting up Slack Intake is simple:

  1. If you don’t have access and are interested, speak with your customer success manager to add Slack Intake to your Vault offering.

  2. Install the Vault app in your Slack workspace
Once part of your subscription, Slack Intake will become available to configure on the Configurations Tab of Resolution Hub.

  3. Configure the Categories that will show in Slack
Vault has already ported your app categories into the Slack configuration. Review and make any required changes.

  4. Vault appears in your Slack apps list
After installation, all workspace members will see Vault listed in the Apps section of the Slack workspace.

How Slack Intake works

  1. Employees log in via Slack Users authenticate using their Vault credentials. Only those synced with your Active Directory will be able to log in.

  2. Users will submit reports through Slack just as they do from all of Vault’s products Users can choose from your company’s categories and either report anonymously or identify themselves.

  3. Reports are routed according to your rules Just like other Vault intake methods, Slack submissions follow your routing logic and policies and will be visible on Resolution Hub.

  4. Data flows to your Vault analytics tools All reports submitted via Slack are visible in Vault’s analytics platforms—Insights or Integrity Intelligence, depending on your organization's plan.
